      DIPHYLLOBOTHRIUM LATUM

      Diphyllobothrium latum : world-wide distribution with a higher prevalence
      in northern emisphere where raw fish is eaten: Alaska, Canada,
      Russian Federation, baltic countries, scandinavian region.
      The adult worm may reach 15 meters in lenght.
      Life cycle.

      Diphyllobothrium latum : eggs are operculated, measure 58-75 by 40-50 µm.
      A small knob is visible at the opposite site of the operculum.
