      BLASTOCYSTIS HOMINIS

      B.hominis is a protozoan parasite of the large intestin with
      a wide range of morphologic forms.
      It is frequently observed in faeces of asymptomatic individuals (1-20%)
      like an harmless commensal but it has been sometimes
      correlated with chronic diarrhea.


      blas2-ic

      B.hominis: The diagnostic form of the parasite is the vacuolated form that
      measures 5-30 µm with a central vacuole and a peripheral cytoplasm
      containing some granules and two to three nuclei.
      It does not form cysts and divides by binary fission.
      (Wet mount).
